City of Nokomis provides various applications and permits to serve the needs of the residents. Here are a few we offer:
- Business District Application
- Non-Highway Application: for golf carts, ATVS, etc.
- Building Permit: Fences, garages, decks, in-ground swimming pools, etc.
- Trailer Park Permit
- Pet Licences
- E-Bike Registration
- Solicitor's Permit: for selling house-to-house, etc.
- Vacant Homes.
Please note, a building permit must be obtained from City Hall and approved BEFORE any type of building project is started. Building Permits
1. Where can I obtain a building permit?
Building permits are available on our website or at City Hall.
2. What are the setbacks for building permits?
Setbacks for building permits include 5ft from the alley, 20ft from street, 10ft from side street, & 10ft from property line.
3. Do I need a building permit for a fence?
Yes, a building permit is required for a fence but no fee is needed.
4. What do I need a building permit for?
Building permits are needed when a resident is adding onto a structure or building a new structure. Examples include garages, decks, in-ground swimming pools, porches, and fences.
